Spring Favorites

The first time I ever wore makeup was at a friend's house in middle school.  I loaded some black eyeliner on, raccoon style of course as any 8th grade girl would do, and that's where it started.  I'd like to hope that my makeup skills have gotten a bit better since the days of raccoon eyes & fire hydrant red blush. Oh, and we can't forget the bright blue eye shadow.

So anyways, like the title of this post says, these are my Spring makeup favorites.

Let's start with the lips, shall we?  First of all, if you've never exfoliated your lips, you gotta try it.  We're talkin' baby smooth.  I used to use Mary Kay Satin Lips, which is awesome, but recently discovered this little guy:
Lip Exfoliator by Elf.  It looks similar to bogies from a troll in the Forbidden Forest in Harry Potter, but don't let that discourage you.  I am a lover of lipsticks, but a lot of my favorites are matte colors which leave my lips looking like a dry, flaky hot mess.  Or at least used to thanks to this little tube of heaven (that's only $3 by the way.)  It hurt a little the first few times I used it, but loved how my lips felt after so I kept using it.  You get used to it, and your lips look/feel like... something really soft?

Moving on, EOS lip balm.  You gotta keep those babies moisturized!  They smell delicious & they work.  Enough said.
I recently discovered Nars Cosmetics, yeah I live under a rock.  My favorite lip colors for Spring:
Giza lip gloss, Chelsea Girls lip laquer, and Lodhi satin pencil.  I'm really feeling oranges and corals, and these ones are perfect.
My last, but certainly not least, favorite lip product for Spring is Melted Nude from Too Faced.  This little thing has some serious staying power.
For the face.  Nars blush in Orgasm (again, diggin' corals as the weather gets warmer), and the Nars Multiple in Copacabana.  You can use the multiple on your lips, cheeks, and eyes.  Hence the name, Multiple. (come on, I gotta throw my teacher voice in at least once!)  I use the multiple to highlight my cheekbones, cupids bow, and anything else you want.. brighter?  And for the blush, well I use it as blush.

And there you have it, friends.  If you stuck with me through that ramble, THANKS!  If you have some makeup favorites for Spring, send them my way.  I'm always looking for a reason to add to my collection (sorry wallet, and Dom)

Yet Another Update

Boy, do I have some news!  Where to start?  Well, I graduated from PSU!! Then, over the summer I got to nanny those little nephews of mine just like I said I would.  It was so great.  I am so glad my family is back in PA!  Carter is speaking in full human sentences, & Mason is army crawling his way all over the place.  While I was spending my days with the babes, I was spending my nights waitressing & bar tending, & on the weekends Dom & I rode our mountain bikes all over.
Then the weather got cold, the boys started daycare, & I become a substitute teacher for 2 districts.  Dom was working at the cemetery (landscaping & such) & working at the school doing techy computer guy things.  I was getting a lot of subbing jobs, so I quit working at the bar.  Dom & I were talking about moving to Utah to start a new adventure.  We were both applying for jobs & looking for places to live.

That's when the good luck started.

Dom & I were eating lunch at the bar I used to work at when he got a phone call.  I mean the mother load of phone calls.  A company in State College wanted to give Dom an interview (he was getting a little impatient with the whole job thing.)  So he went for the interview & a few painstakingly long weeks, they called & offered him the job!!! He obviously took it & is absolutely loving it.  That's when we decided that Utah was way too far from our families & that State College would be a great adventure!  We started looking for apartments to rent, which proved to be a lot harder than we thought with our 2 little pooches.  We drove aimlessly around the city trying to find For Rent signs.  We were sitting in the car in the parking lot of Trader Joe's when we were both frustrated & crying (ok, I was the one crying).  We weren't agreeing on a budget, location, or where to eat dinner that night.  I went on craigslist in one final attempt to find a place to live, & that's when I saw it.  The most perfect little cottage in the history of little cottages.  I emailed the landlord right away & got a call at Rey Azteca (we finally agreed on a place for dinner) saying that we could come look at the cottage in a few days.
We showed up & fell in love with the place.  Unfortunately, so did a 3 other couples.  We waited for the 2 longest days of our lives to hear back, & guess what... WE GOT IT! :)
So that brings me to present day.  I started subbing in the State College district & I teach 2 after school enrichment classes starting in a few weeks.  I am SO excited about that.

But even more exciting than that....

On December 23rd, my partner in crime & best friend in the whole world asked me to marry him after almost 8 years of dating.  You heard right folks.. I'M ENGAGED!!!  We are getting married October 10, 2015 & honeymooning in Aspen, CO.  Life is going pretty perfectly if you were wondering :)
